Self-knowledge as a starting point

All navigators begin by finding their bearings: Where am I?
This question, essential to the self-knowledge, guides all inner exploration. And without this clarity, no course is possible.

For a long time, I lived with questions that seemed paradoxical. I am introvert, I like clear structures, I am rational and oriented towards tasks. And yet I also have a creative vein, I like solving problems and, even if I don't approach people spontaneously, I appreciate the good company.

And yet... I embarked on a career in sales. I've often asked myself: «Do I really have what it takes? Shouldn't I be bolder, more outgoing, more expansive?»

Ten years of compensation

In nearly ten years of sales experience (notably with Orange and TPS/Canal+), I've moved forward successfully, but in my own way.
I compensated for my lack of extroversion with a lot of calculation and strategy. In every sales action, I planned details, anticipate scenarios, prepared arguments. In a way, I was making the most of my introversion and its more rational to feel in security.

It worked... but at a price. I sometimes ran out of spontaneity, the distributed when something unexpected happened. It was as if I was always playing“.“in defence”Even though I was getting good results.

Over time, I also came to realise that I had a very particular way of working: I favoured resustainable lations, based on listening and the stability.

Meeting the method

That's when I discovered the AEC DISC method. And suddenly it all made sense.

  • My introversion wasn't a weakness, but a different kind of strength - one that listen, observe and create the trust.

  • I learned to accepting my limits I knew how far I could go without ceasing to be myself.

  • And I realised something essential: I couldn't force myself to play a role that was too extrovert. That would be inauthentic and contrary to my deepest motivation: the cognitive motivation, to learn, understand and solve problems.

Recognising this was liberator. Instead of hiding what I thought was a defect, I started to use it as a force.

And I accepted that some things would never be natural for me - and that this was perfectly acceptable, as long as I acted in accordance with my own values. authenticity.

When theory becomes practice

La AEC DISC methodology is inspired by great thinkers such as Jung, Spranger and Marston
These approaches provide a simple, practical framework for exploring self-knowledge and better understand others: the perceptions, the motivations and styles of behaviour.

But the strength of DISC lies precisely here: transforming this base theoretical into something simple and usable. Thanks to the language of colours, In this way, everyone can quickly understand their own style and that of others.
You don't need to study psychology to apply it... it's immediate !

The name AEC itself is an acronym of the word Arc En Ciel - hence the metaphor of the “behavioural rainbow”: a universal language, intuitive and accessible.

Created in France, this approach stands out for its easy to assimilate and its immediate application, both in life and in the workplace. personal that professional.

As I often say to people who are new to this tool : there is a before and an after.

The moment when you read your profile is often a very important moment. revelation. Suddenly, behaviours that seemed paradoxical make sense, and we find simple words to explain what was previously invisible.
