Hello and welcome aboard the blog « Exploration in Colour » !
The great navigators observed the stars and the planets to find their course. Without these landmarks, no journey was safe. But what about us? In the midst of teams, families, friends, customers... what is our compass?
Human relationships function like a moving sky. Everyone sees the world through their own filter: their experiences, emotions and expectations. That's why the same situation can excite some people, leave others indifferent and provoke resistance in still others.
These perceptions do not exist in isolation: they collide or align in the systems in which we evolve... at work, at home, with customers or friends. Like the planets, which sometimes move apart and sometimes align, we too oscillate between voltage and harmony.
The Stoic philosophers reminded us that we can't change the way the stars move, but we can change the way we interpret what's happening. Clarity begins when we recognise what depends on us... and what does not depend on us. The same applies to relationships: we can't “change the colour” of others, but we can learn from it recognise, respect it, and we will align.
This is where AEC DISC methodology A simple lens that makes diversity visible, understandable and exploitable. Like a coloured nautical chart, it helps us to navigate better, align expectations and build smoother relationships.
Just as the sky changes night after night, so do the human systems are constantly on the move. L'Exploration en Couleurs was born to be that compass: practical, inspiring and useful.
In the next edition, we'll explore how two different styles can block... or unleash a team's potential.
What about you? Have you ever experienced a moment when, suddenly, everything made sense - as if the planets had aligned in a relationship or a team? What changed for you from that moment on?
