When anger awakens more than lightning.
the calm that lies
The calm that had returned was just a facade.
On the deck of the «Kymia», the air was still thick with tension as the crew survived more than they lived.
Elias Arcturus was scanning the Æther compass.
Since the lightning strike, she had become almost alive and her needle hesitated, pulsing like a disoriented heart.
Dário's unexpected anger
Dário's voice broke out behind him.
- “Enough is enough!”
Elias turned round.
The sailor stepped forward, taut as a rope ready to snap, and something about him had changed.
A unexpected anger, It was brutal, uncontrolled, rising like a heavy wave.
Ever since he woke up, Elias had seen emotions as lights. Dário's anger burned like a red fire in the night. Then he understood what was tearing his companion apart
- Ignorance and the loss of control.
Two things that shattered even the strongest and proudest spirits.
The compass reaction
Elias tried to calm the human storm.
- “Dário. Listen to me.”
But the compass reacted before he did.
She became burning, vibrant, alive... then
- BANG!
The needle leaps eastwards.
Dário screamed and fell to his knees, his hands on his temples.
A red glow - intense, almost alive - tore away from him and shot towards the horizon.
The sea itself seemed to hold its breath.
A signal from elsewhere
Dário was trembling.
- “Elias... what's happening to me?”
Elias crouched down beside him.
- “It wasn't you.”
- “So what?!”
The compass was still vibrating in his hand.
- “It was an answer.”
- “An answer to what?!”
Elias looked to the east, and a cold intuition took hold. Something there had reacted to this unexpected anger, as if human emotion had found an echo in the world.
- “To something that heard you, Dário.”
And, in a darker voice :
- “And who heard me too.”
the east opens up
A sudden wind picked up, suddenly setting the sails to the east, without logic, without order.
The Kymia tilted and began to drift in that direction, as if pushed by an invisible hand.
Elias straightened up, realising that the road had just been chosen... but not by him.
- We no longer have a choice.“
The compass pulsed one last time, the red had spoken.
The road east was opening up.

This unexpected anger, which has upset Dário and opened the road to the East, reveals to Elias the first law of his journey:
